This vast marine monument is a protected area that covers over 582,000 square kilometers, making it one of the largest marine protected areas on Earth. It provides a safe haven for whales, dolphins, and sea turtles.

9. The Maldives Marine Reserve, Indian Ocean​

Located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, this reserve protects the coral reefs and marine life that call this beautiful island nation home.

10. The Raja Ampat Marine Protected Area, Indonesia​
